Beth Buelow, PCC is a facilitator, mentor coach and the author of The Introvert Entrepreneur. I loved her Linkedin ARTICLE on “How to Self-Promote Without Sounding Like a Conceited Jerk.” She touched on why it isn’t easy for some people (especially introverts) to self-promote. Beth says, “It’s essential to have a healthy sense of self. We all have a fundamental need to be seen and heard. And if we want to succeed in business, people have to know about the good work we’re doing.” However, she describes a few bad habits she’s witnessed, along with their antidotes.
- Being overly critical of others
- The Humblebrag
- Name dropping
- “Me, too!”-ing
- Flat-out bragging about yourself
